Greek Games, the weeklong competition among University of Delaware fraternities and sororities, ended Saturday, April 27, with the overall winners Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority.
Winners of Greek Games Day, held on Harrington Beach on Saturday, April 27, were Theta Chi fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority.
Fraternity runners-up for Greek Games Week were Theta Chi in second, Kappa Delta Rho in third and Sigma Chi, Pi Kappa Alpha and Sigma Alpha Mu in a three-way tie for fourth.
As for sorority Greek Week winners, Sigma Kappa took second, Phi Sigma Sigma took third and Kappa Delta finished fourth overall.
Greek Games Day fraternity winners also included Pi Kappa Alpha in second, Phi Sigma Kappa in third and Kappa Delta Rho in fourth.
For the women, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Kappa Alpha Theta, Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Xi Delta sororities all placed second in a four-way tie.
Highlights of the week included Airband, a dance and lip-syncing contest complete with costumes and back-drops; Looking Fit, a best-body competition; and the ever-popular and coveted Greek God and Goddess, where individual members from their respective fraternities and sororities show-off their talents to a large audience of their peers.
Airband winners for the fraternities included Kappa Delta Rho in first, Alpha Tau Omega in second, Theta Chi in third and Sigma Alpha Mu in fourth.
Alpha Phi sorority placed first for the women in Airband, while Sigma Kappa danced its way into second, Alpha Xi Delta took third and Phi Sigma Sigma placed fourth.
Looking Fit winners included a pumped up David Mendez of Alpha Tau Omega and a svelte Liesje Cardillo of Alpha Phi.
Also placing in Looking Fit was Scott Klein of Pi Kappa Alpha who took second, Daryl Frank of Sigma Alpha Mu for third and Samuel Lewis of Sigma Chi who finished fourth.
For the women, Lauren McNulty of Sigma Kappa took second, Allison Gunn of Kappa Delta took third and Brittany Holmes of Alpha Sigma Alpha flipped her way into fourth place.
Greek God and Goddess winners were Justin Brenner of Kappa Delta Rho, who did a Stomp style percussive performance, and Laura Cunningham of Phi Sigma Sigma, who performed a violin piece.
Other fraternity winners for Greek God were Matt Resutek of Lambda Chi Alpha who took second, and Joe Bodalski of Alpha Tau Omega and T.J. Wolfersberger of Theta Chi tied for third.
Kaitlin Sweeney of Sigma Kappa sorority tied for second for Greek Goddess with Corinne Bria of Alpha Phi. Rachel Rosado of Alpha Chi Omega took fourth.
Other events included arm wrestling competitions with Greek Week winners Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Alpha Phi sorority placing first.
Sigma Kappa sorority and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity proved triumphant winners of the volleyball tournament, and Theta Chi fraternity and Sigma Kappa sorority won bombardment.
