Interest in the game is high, and tickets are selling briskly, according to Mike Holdren, athletics ticket manager.
Delaware Stadium seats 22,000.
The game will be played under the lights, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
Game day has been designated as Tubby Raymond Day at Delaware Stadium, in honor of the legendary coach who won 300 games during 36 seasons at the helm. Raymond announced his retirement in February.
Raymond will hand the ball off to new head coach K.C. Keeler, himself a former Blue Hen who played under Raymond, during pre-game ceremonies.
At halftime, the playing field at Delaware Stadium will be officially renamed Tubby Raymond Field.
Georgia Southern is a six-time NCAA Division I-AA champion and enters the game ranked fifth in the nation in a preseason poll conducted by The Sports Network. UD was ranked 22nd in that poll.
Like Delaware, Georgia Southern has a new head coach in Mike Sewak. The Eagles also must replace star running back Adrian Peterson, an NFL draft choice of the Chicago Bears.
Single game tickets can be purchased in person at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center box office, which will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
