The annual Scotty Duncan Memorial Tournament, named in honor of the late University of Delaware golf coach and athletic administrator, Raymond B. Scotty Duncan, will begin at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 27, at Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown, Del.
The two-day, 36-hole golf tournament, which had previously been held at the Hog Neck Golf Club in Easton, Md., since it began in 1983, will host golf teams from such institutions as Delaware, Bucknell, Cornell, Drexel, George Washington, Lehigh, Navy, Villanova and Washington and Lee.
Coach Duncan never had a losing season during his 27-year tenure as golf coach at UD (1967-1990) and led his Blue Hen teams to an overall record of 365-94. His 1977 team won the EIGA tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division I tournament.
He was inducted into the state of Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 and UDs Athletics Hall of Fame in November 1999.
