Corporate series will conclude May 9
The University of Delaware corporate governance seminar series will conclude Thursday, May 9, when a panel featuring the nations leading executives, jurists, academics and journalists will discuss the role of the dissident director. The series is part of the course Advanced Corporate Governance, which is led by Charles Elson, Edgar J. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the Center for Corporate Governance. The concluding session will be held from 9:30-10:45 a.m., Thursday, in 125 MBNA America Hall. Members of the community are invited to attend. Please call 831-6157 in advance to make sure space is available. The session on the dissident director features a strong panel, including Chancellor William Chandler of the Delaware Court of Chancery, a UD graduate who recently decided the much-publicized Hewlett Packard case. Other panelists will be Guy Adams, president, GWA Capital; Frank Balotti, partner, Richards, Finger & Layton; Edward Lampert, chief executive officer, ESL Investments; Morris Offit, chief executive officer and founder, Offitbank; Robin Sidel, reporter, The Wall Street Journal; Larry Sonsini, senior partner, Wilson Sonsini; and Raymond Troubh, director or former director of a number of corporations including Enron, Time Warner and America West Airlines.
