Barry Manilow to perform in concert March 17

Singer-songwriter Barry Manilow will perform at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 17, at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center.

The concert is sold out; however, a few side view and obstructed view seats might be available the day of the show. Seating availability will not be known for certain until about 4 p.m. the day of the show.

Manilow is from Brooklyn, N.Y., and studied at the New York College of Music and Juilliard. He worked as music director for Bette Midler in the early 1970s and embarked on his first solo tour in 1974.

The release of “Mandy” started a string of 25 consecutive Top 40 hits, including “Even Now,” “This One's for You,” “Weekend in New England,” “I Write the Songs” and “Tryin' to Get the Feeling Again.”
