Blue Hen baseball team takes two of three from Delaware State

The University of Delaware baseball team took two out of three games in a weekend series against Delaware State and now prepares to host Quinnipiac at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, at Bob Hannah Stadium.

The Blue Hens dropped Friday’s series opener 12-11 then bounced back to sweep a doubleheader 9-2 and 12-2 on Saturday.

Delaware got wins from pitchers Jason Rogers and Jason Vincent in the Saturday sweep.

In the first game, Steve Harden got the Hens started with a second inning grand slam.

In the second game, Delaware exploded for 11 runs in the first three innings.

After facing Quinnipiac, Delaware will play a two-game weekend set against Boston College at Bob Hannah Stadium. Games will begin at noon, Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17.
