Faculty members earn AAA honors
Kent St. Pierre, chairperson of the Department of Accounting and MIS, and Clinton (Skip) White, associate professor of accounting and MIS, received awards from the American Accounting Association (AAA) at its annual national conference in August 1998 in New Orleans.
St. Pierre was recognized for substantial contributions to the field of accounting education for the past 14 years, and White was presented the Outstanding Service Award.
Since 1985, St. Pierre has been the editor of the Journal of Accounting Education, the first educational journal in the accounting field, produced by the International Association for Accounting Education and Research. He also has served as president of the teaching curriculum committee of AAA.
The Outstanding Service Award went to White for his service on several high-level strategic planning committees for information technologies at AAA and for his role as its founding web master. He also has taught workshops and seminars over the past four years, nationally and internationally, to accountants on the basics of the Internet and using it to build a learning environment. White is the area head for Management Information Systems in the College.
