The Phi Kappa Tau 5K for Bruce was held March 13. Founded by Delaware alumnus Andre Hoeschel, '85 BE, the race raised $12,900 for young people paralyzed in accidents.

More than 300 New Castle County alumni and their families attended a Blue Hen ice hockey game at the Fred Rust Ice Arena on Feb. 12. After a pre-game dinner and visit by YoUDee,the Fightin' Blue Hen mascot, guests watched the Blue Hens beat the Towson University Tigers 9-3.

More than 500 UD alumni and friends attended performances of Elmo's Coloring Book on March 19, 20 and 21 at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center. Elmo and his friends, including Bert and Ernie, Telly, Rosita, Prairie Dawn and Grover, visited guests in the Bob Carpenter Club, giving future Blue Hens an exclusive opportunity to meet the stars.

Nearly 50 alumni and friends gathered at Greenshield's in Raleigh, N.C., on March 29, for a UD Night. Alumni attending were from classes of the 1940s through 1998.
The Richmond, Va., Area Alumni Club sponsored a UD Night on March 30. Nearly 30 alumni and friends gathered.
On April 7, more than 100 alumni, parents and friends were among those attending the second annual Battle of the Blues at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington. The match-up between the Fightin' Blue Hen baseball team and Wilmington's minor league Blue Rocks resulted in a 5-0 win for the Blue Rocks. Before the game, guests enjoyed a cook-out in the Blue Rocks Café overlooking the field.
The Phantom was unmasked in Mitchell Hall April 11, where more than 500 alumni, their children and patrons of the Junior Performing Arts Series enjoyed a performance of Phantom of the Opera. Afterward, guests gathered under a tent on the Mall to greet the cast and enjoy refreshments.
More than 30 Phoenix area alumni celebrated the arrival of baseball season at the April 18 match-up between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Prior to the first pitch, guests enjoyed dinner at a restaurant within walking distance of the ballpark.
On April 22, Atlanta-area alumni enjoyed a reception at the Capital City Country Club with University President and Mrs. David P. Roselle.
South Florida alumni gathered April 23 for a reception with University President and Mrs. Roselle at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, where they enjoyed a spectacular view of the inter-coastal waterway and heard about exciting new projects at the University.
On April 28, the Central New Jersey Alumni Club hosted a UD Night in Princeton. More than 60 young alumni and friends attended.
Sixty alumni, parents and friends from Philadelphia and southern New Jersey came out on May 8 for a UD picnic at the Dad Vail Regatta on the banks of the Schuylkill River, where they cheered on the Blue Hen rowers.
On June 6, some 200 alumni and friends watched the Baltimore Orioles play the Philadelphia Phillies at Camden Yards. The event, hosted by the Baltimore Area Alumni Club, featured a pre-game buffet lunch.
The Central New Jersey and Northern New Jersey Alumni Clubs teamed up to host a fun-in-the-sun event in South Belmar, N.J. Approximately 100 alumni attended the event, which featured a cookout, volleyball, dancing and trolley transportation to and from the beach.
