Lights brighter Downtown

The University's new Downtown Center, which opened in the fall at 8th and King Streets in Wilmington, Del., makes education more accessible to working adults. The building was made available to UD by MBNA America, which offered up to $2.5 million to assist in renovations. A special feature at the Downtown Center is an accelerated semester with credit courses that meet in the early evening, twice a week, for just seven weeks. New degree opportunities are available through part-time, evening study, including a B.A. in liberal studies and a B.S. in consumer economics, and classes toward a Master of Public Administration degree will be offered in a regular 14-week semester format. A number of computer education programs and several certificate programs also are offered. For a free listing of courses, call (302) 831-3182.
