Travel with photographer John Weiss, UD professor of art. Fly into Amsterdam and depart for Nairobi the next day. Travel to Lea Downs, a private, 40,000-acre conservancy, home to a myriad of plains animals, providing excellent photographic opportunities. Spend the next two days on a special journey by camel. Enjoy two full days of game viewing on the Samburu/Buffalo Springs Game Reserve situated on either side of the Uaso Nyiro River. Here, herds of elephants come to drink and bird life occurs in bewildering abundance. Spend one evening photographing a traditional Samburu dance group. Travel north to Maralal–a small, active village with a colorful market that is a gathering place for Samburu and Turkana peoples–and spend the night at the spectacular Maralal Safari Lodge. Continue into the Great Rift Valley, an immense geological fault that stretches from Jordan to southern Africa, and spend three days on an exciting journey to Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s best game reserves. New Zealand’s spectacular scenery includes verdant rolling hills dotted with millions of sheep. Visit the South Island, including the very "English" Christchurch and Queenstown nestled at the foot of a glacier-covered mountain. Travel to Arrowtown, an old gold boomtown, and on to Mt.
