Parents Day

Saturday, Sept. 26, will be

Informative

In the morning, parents will have a chance to meet academic deans and administrators and explore UD's electronic campus at an ongoing computer demonstration. At this site, the entire family can tour the Internet and learn about UD-Parents, an electronic mail list designed for networking. Sessions also will be offered on graduate and professional studies, preparing for a career and study-abroad opportunities.

Spirited

During lunch at the Delaware Field House, the UD Marching Band, cheerleaders, YoUDee-the Fightin' Blue Hen mascot and Precision Dance Team will provide an entertaining display of school spirit. Then, the Hens will take on the University of New Hampshire Wildcats at a 1 p.m. football game in Delaware Stadium.

Entertaining

An open house at the Center for Black Culture and an ice show at the Fred Rust Ice Area will follow the game, along with an all-you-can-eat dinner at the Trabant University Center from 5-7 p.m. Evening entertainment will be offered by the Capitol Steps, an a cappella ensemble known for its politically satirical songs, and Calliope, an annual event in which UD music students and faculty present a wide-ranging repertoire.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend as many events as possible. More details to come in the next Messenger.
