Setting the mark

Larry Pratt, Delaware '63, UD throws coach, landed the World Record Discus Mark for his age group (55-59) at the Huntsman World Senior Games, held last fall in St. George, Utah. Pratt's winning throw, 178 feet, 7 inches, broke the 1977 world record by 18 inches. Pratt set UD records in both the shot put and discus, while serving as captain of the University's first conference championship track and field team in 1963. Since entering Masters National Championships in 1980, he has won 116 meets. He holds four national discus titles, three national shot put titles and one world discus title.
