Nominees must be UD alumni (defined as completing at least 30 credit hours) who have achieved senior leadership positions in their professional and/or public service careers. THE PRESIDENTIAL CITATION FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT honors graduates of the last 20 years who exhibit great promise in their professional or public service activities. Members of the classes of 1976 through 1996 are eligible for 1996 citations. Current University employees are not eligible. Beginning this fall, the University of Delaware athletics program and TRZ Sports Services Teamline have joined to bring you live play-by- play action of all Blue Hen broadcasts heard on radio station WDEL-AM in Wilmington. All you need is a telephone. Here's how it works: * At game time, dial TEAMLINE's number, 1-800-846-4700; * Follow computer prompts and punch in Delaware's four-digit code (1106); * Have your VISA or MasterCard available and enter your card number when instructed; * You will then be connected to the live radio broadcast of the sporting event, be it football, men's basketball or women's basketball; * Listen for as long as you like. You will be charged by the minute for the time you listen, from 50 cents a minute to as low as 20 cents per minute. A celebration of space The fifth annual Space Activities Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, on the University's Newark campus. NASA astronaut and native Delawarean Maj. Nancy Currie will be the featured speaker, and presentations will be made by those undergraduate and graduate students supported by the Delaware Space Grant program. Laboratory tours and demonstrations also will be part of the day. Special presentations are planned throughout the day for middle and high school science teachers, undergraduate physics majors and faculty. Celebrity Golf Classic The MBNA Blue Hen Celebrity Golf Classic, which benefits UD athletic scholarships, will be held Friday, Oct. 13, at the DuPont, Deerfield and Brandywine country clubs. Presented by Legg Mason, the event begins at 8 a.m. with registration and the pairing of foursomes with a celebrity. Delaware Radiology Specialists at St. Francis Hospital will sponsor a private golf clinic for women participants at 8:30 a.m., Deerfield Country Club. Five-time LPGA Champion Cindy Rarick will host the clinic. A 9 a.m. brunch will be followed by the celebrity shotgun start at 10:45 a.m. A gala auction party, hosted by Dallas Green, Delaware '56, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sponsored by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware, the auction will include such items as an Aspen vacation, works of art, foursomes at the country's top golf courses and a Joe Montana autographed football.
