Honoring journalism's best

     Cornelius A. Tilghman, Delaware '25, and Marjorie Squire
Tilghman, Delaware '28, have endowed an annual journalism award to
recognize the best article published by an undergraduate in The
Review, the UD student newspaper. The first-place winner of the C.A.
Tilghman Sr. Journalistic Awards will receive $300, the second-place
winner, $200. Judges will be members of the journalism faculty in the
Department of English. Tilghman, the first Rhodes Scholar from the
University, is a retired journalist and teacher. Marjorie Tilghman is
a retired history teacher. The couple lives in Newark.
