Graduate named new head of alumni, university relations

Robert R. Davis, Delaware '71, '79, director of University relations
since 1984, has been promoted to director of alumni and University
relations.
"I am very pleased that Bob Davis has accepted this additional
assignment," Charles M. Forbes, vice president for development and alumni
relations, said. "He brings with him a wonderful blend of experience,
creativity and initiative. Bob holds two degrees from Delaware, is a
longtime employee and has managed statewide programs and events that
involve thousands of alumni, friends, students, employees and their
families with the University of Delaware."
Davis' bachelor's degrees are in political science and art history,
and his master's degree in educational administration is from Bowling Green
University. He first joined the University staff in 1977 as associate
director of alumni relations. In 1979, during preparation for the
University's 150th anniversary capital campaign, he joined the Development
Office staff to head the research unit-a position he held until becoming
director of University relations.
Active in community and civic affairs, he is a member of numerous
professional, historical and preservation societies in Delaware, including
current service on the boards of directors of the New Castle Historical
Society and the Centreville School.
