Symposium spotlights student research
This year's Undergraduate Research Symposium will feature students' senior thesis presentations and a keynote address by an alumnus of the program.
This year's event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 10, in the Perkins Student Center on Academy Street in Newark. The keynote speaker is Len Stark, an assistant U.S. attorney for Delaware.
After graduating from UD in 1991 with three degrees and a Rhodes Scholarship, Stark earned a doctoral degree at Oxford and then graduated from Yale Law School. His doctoral thesis became a book, Choosing a Leader: Party Leadership Contests in Britain from Macmillan to Blair. In his acknowledgements prefacing the book, Stark wrote that he was "indebted to the University of Delaware's Undergraduate Research Program, which gave me the skills and the confidence to undertake this project at Oxford."
