Celebrating the Class of '53
The year was 1953. It marked the end of the Korean War. A first class postage stamp cost 3 cents. Dwight Eisenhower was inaugurated president of the United States. The Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers to win the World Series and From Here to Eternity won the Oscar for Best Picture of the year.

The year is now 2003, and the men and women from the Class of 1953 will celebrate their 50th anniversary as UD alumni. Among the activities will be the Alumni Spring Luncheon, Saturday, May 3, when class members will be inducted into the Gold Guard. Hosted by President and Mrs. David P. Roselle, this milestone will be the kick-off event for the 50th anniversary celebration.

The Class of 1953 will lead the alumni delegation at the 154th Commencement Saturday, May 31. Homecoming 2003, Oct. 17-18, will mark the culmination of the year-long celebration. Members of the Class of 1953 are honored throughout the weekend for their dedication to the University and their remarkable accomplishments following graduation.

Class of 1958
The 45th reunion for the Class of 1958 will be celebrated during Homecoming weekend, Oct. 17-18. Class members will see many changes since their graduation as they tour the campus and attend a reception at the home of President and Mrs. David P. Roselle. The class also will host a pre-game tailgate before the Fightin' Blue Hens take on the University of Rhode Island Rams. A reunion dinner will follow the game.
