Volume 11, Number 3, 2002

Dalls Green's face changes when he talks about R.R.M. Carpenter Jr. He takes a noticeable giant step backward in his mind to a time before he earned a world series ring.

The same thing happens when Claude Bunnell recalls P.S. Du Pont. He shifts into reverse and goes more than a half century back, before he had an engineering degree or a successful plastics business.

Memories of the generous donors who helped them come to the University spurred Green and Bunnell on to become donors themselves.

Scholarships they have endowed are helping deserving students realize their dreams on campus.

And they are not alone. Alumni who received scholarships are saying they have unfinished business on campus.

They are endowing scholarships for the next generation of UD standouts.
