Homecoming, Oct. 11-12, 2002

Homecoming 2002 will cover the campus with class reunions and receptions, alumni honors and citations and tailgating football fans at Delaware Stadium. An order form for tickets to the football contest between Delaware's Fightin' Blue Hens and James Madison University, Saturday, Oct. 12, can be found on the Homecoming website [www.udel.edu/homecoming]. The order form can be faxed or mailed to the University of Delaware, Bob Carpenter Center Box Office, Room 106, Newark, DE 19716. Expect a special performance by the Alumni Marching Band and the presentation of Outstanding Alumni Awards at half time.

Alumni committees are working on special reunion events for the Classes of 1952, 1957, 1977 and 1992 [www.udel.edu/alumni/events/reunions.html]. To celebrate its 50 year reunion, the Class of 1952 plans a homecoming brunch on the Townsend Hall lawn, followed by a dinner celebration at the Trabant University Center. Reunion Row tailgates are planned for the other three classes, with a Class of 1957 reception in the Bob Carpenter Club at 5:30 p.m., a Class of 1977 reception from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Blue and Gold Club and a Class of 1992 reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Clayton Hall.

The presentation of the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Achievement Awards will be held Friday, Oct. 11, at 4:30 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.
