News from the Alumni Association

You, too, can become an alumni club coordinator

Club coordinators are still needed in some areas of the country. If you would like to volunteer to serve as a club coordinator for your geographic region, please contact Nancy Millard AS '90, Alumni Club Coordinator, at [nmillard@udel.edu].

Alumni club coordinators help to plan events and serve as alumni representatives in their area. Here are some of things we ask our alumni club coordinators to do:

(1) Allow us to post your name and e-mail address on our web site for other alumni in your area to contact you. You would then be responsible to respond to anyone who e-mails you asking for information on alumni events in your area.

(2) Help us plan alumni club activities in your area. Ideally, we would like to have two or three events each year in your area. We need your help in finding events or places that would be of interest to alumni in your area. We may ask you for ideas and you can contact us with new or fun ideas for events in your area.

(3) Collect ideas from alumni in your area. Let us know what kind of things alumni in your area would like us to organize. Keep us posted on how many contacts you receive from alumni in your area.

To find out about recent club events or upcoming events in your area, visit our website at [http://www.udel.edu/alumni].

Jim Keller, AS '93, a Philadelphia lawyer, says his position as club coordinator is "a good way to meet new people, network a bit and have fun."

Keller uses a committee to plan club events, either through bi-monthly meetings in person or by conference call. Committee members, who also e-mail Keller with their ideas, include UD graduates from the 1940s to 2000.

Recent club events have ranged from a visit to the Philadelphia Flower Show, a gathering at McGillin's Ale House and a reception at the Union League in Philadelphia, which drew more than 200 alumni.
