Baltimore Some 50 Blue Hen basketball fans braved the snow on Saturday, Jan. 20, to cheer on UD to a 67-64 victory over Towson University. Before the game, alumni and friends gathered at Bill Bateman's for a reception. New Castle County, Del. More than 150 alumni and friends attended the Performing Arts Series Alumni Focus Artist concert on Friday, Feb. 9. Randi Marrazzo, CHEP '71, entertained the crowd with Voices of Love, accompanied by pianist Richard Raub. A dozen couples enjoyed a pre-concert meal at the Blue & Gold Club. The same night, New Castle County alumni and friends cheered on the Blue Hen ice hockey team to a 4-3 victory over Mercyhurst College at the Fred Rust Ice Arena. Almost 300 Blue Hen fans attended this annual reception and game. Always a favorite with families, the event featured autographs of the team and a signed ice hockey stick that was raffled off at the end of the first period. Southern New Jersey Alumni and friends gathered March 20 in Haddonfield, N.J., for a Southern New Jersey Alumni Club event. Rich Mroz, AS '83, hosted the event at Tavistock County Club. The more than 40 alumni in attendance spanned 40 years, graduating between 1951 and 1999. They enjoyed the University news shared by President David P. Roselle and spent the evening reminiscing about their days at UD. St. Louis On March 20, more than 20 UD alumni, parents and admitted students welcomed spring in St. Louis, Mo. Fred Siegel, UD's associate provost for enrollment services, hosted the event and gave an update on admission statistics and enrollment services programs. Members of the enthusiastic crowd enjoyed meeting one another to share their enthusiasm form Delaware. Rockin' Blue Hens April 5 was a beautiful spring night when nearly 130 UD alumni and friends gathered at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del., to watch the Fightin' Blue Hen baseball team take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks. New Castle County alumni and their guests enjoyed a pregame dinner at the stadium and a visit from YoUDee, everyone's favorite mascot. The game's most dramatic play came in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Blue Hens made a triple play! Unfortunately, the Hens lost to the Blue Rocks, a class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, 4-0. |
