Dallas
Nearly 30 UD alumni and friends joined President David Roselle high atop Dallas at the Tower Club, Oct. 5. Roselle updated guests on recent activities at the University. Many of those attending, who have not returned to Newark in many years, were interested to learn of the new developments on campus.
Houston
David and Louise Roselle hosted more than 30 UD alumni and friends in the Houston area at an Oct. 6 reception at the Houstonian Hotel. These Texas alumni were eager to learn about campus news and student activities.
Williamsburg
It was a beautiful day Oct. 14 in Williamsburg, Va., as more than 200 Blue Hen football fans gathered for brunch at the Hospitality House prior to the UD vs. William and Mary game. Guests were entertained by the UD cheerleading team. After brunch, the Blue Hens went on to defeat the Tribe 28-17.
Baltimore
More than 50 UD alumni and friends met in Baltimore to enjoy a day of food, football and fun--on Sunday, Oct. 22. Guests gathered for a pregame breakfast at the Marriott Inner Harbor and then headed over to sold-out PSINet Stadium to watch the Baltimore Ravens take on the Tennessee Titans. Unfortunately, the home team lost to the Titans 14-6.
On Dec. 13, a group of young UD alumni gathered at Planet Hollywood in Baltimore's Inner Harbor to celebrate the holiday season. They enjoyed meeting one another and networking, while sharing their UD experiences.
New York City
President Roselle hosted a small group of UD alumni and friends from the New York City alumni club on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Downtown Athletic Club. Guests were excited to hear about recent changes on the UD campus and the extremely impressive statistics on the freshman class.
On Dec. 14, more than 80 alumni gathered at Sutton Place in New York City to welcome the holiday season. This occasion, hosted by New York City club coordinator, Erik Sulzback, '96, has become an annual event for UD alumni in and around Manhattan.
Tampa
John Clayton, former UD archivist and now assistant director of University development, hosted an enthusiastic group of alumni in the Tampa area Nov. 3. Alumni and friends gathered at the Doubletree Hotel on Tampa Bay. Clayton spoke of the history of the University of Delaware and the changes to the campus over the past several years.
San Diego
On Wednesday, Nov. 8, more than 20 UD alumni gathered in La Jolla, Calif., for an event at La Valencia Hotel, was hosted by Amy Zvonkovic '99, San Diego club coordinator. Robert Davis, '71 '79, vice president for development and alumni relations, used slides to update everyone on the latest campus news and buildings.
Los Angeles
In Redondo Beach, Calif., 30 Los Angeles area alumni gathered Nov. 9 at the Portofino Yacht Club. These West Coast alumni, ranging from the classes of 1953 to 1999, enjoyed networking with other UD graduates and viewing the latest campus improvements and updates via a slide show presentation.
San Francisco
The latest Bay Area alumni event in San Francisco was held Nov. 10. Forty-five alumni--graduating from 1935 to 1999--attended, catching up with old friends and meeting new UD graduates now living on the West Coast.
Jacksonville
Ed Williamson '87 hosted a small group of UD alumni and friends at a Nov. 12 tailgate party prior to watching the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Seattle Seahawks at Altell Stadium. The group enjoyed pregame festivities, including a visit from the Jaguars mascot. Unfortunately, the hometeam lost to the Seahawks, 28-21.
South Florida
The Southern Florida Alumni Club gathered at Shula's Steak 2 in Miami Lakes Nov. 20, to watch a satellite broadcast of the Villanova Wildcats vs. the University of Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens. The event was hosted by Cyndy Houck '77. The Blue Hens defeated the Wildcats 59-47.
