Give three cheers for this happy half dozen--triplets Sean, Kelly and Andy Mulrine, who graduated from UD in May, and new members of the next generation, triplets Paige, Griffin and Elyse Lamey, born in March to UD alums Debbie Janssen Lamey, HNS '87, and Jerry Lamey, HNS '86.
In the photo at right, the oldest Mulrine triplet, Sean, BE 2000, left, holds the oldest Lamey triplet, Paige; Kelly, HNS 2000, the only Mulrine girl, is holding Griffin, the only Lamey boy; and the baby of the Mulrine family, Andy, BE 2000, is holding the youngest Lamey, Elyse.
This photo shoot was not the first time the two families had crossed paths.
Proud papa, Jerry Lamey, a teacher and wrestling coach at Hodgson Vocational Technical School, coached both Sean and Andy in All-Star wrestling matches when they were in high school.
Kelly and Debbie met for the first time when Debbie, an operating room nurse at A.I. duPont Children's Hospital, took her babies in to meet her colleagues and found Kelly working as a student nurse.
In April, when the babies were hospitalized with a virus, Kelly, who now works full time at A.I., took care of them. The Mulrine brothers are both employed at local banks--Andy for Commerce and Sean for Juniper.
Whatever the three younger triplets decide to do, the Mulrines say they highly recommend going through UD together.
