On Sept. 22, one of UD Geology's former PhD students, Brian Atwater, will visit our campus and present a seminar at 3:45 pm in room 004 Kirkbride. Brian's research involves uncovering evidence of historical tsunami in the Pacific Rim.

He has been so successful that Time magazine has named him one of the 100 most important people in the WORLD in a recent issue.

Brian's seminar will provide a great general introduction to this field for students in courses in environmental hazards, oceanography, introductory geology and geography, and possibly even fluid mechanics. He will give a general, "gee-whiz" lecture of interest to all.
