Personally I also really like all the ones I posted on here (http://fluentlanguage.co.uk/bl... - some overlap, great minds think alike and I'm proud to say so!), especially dict.leo.org - and I can't ever quite manage without german.about.com.

Hi André, thanks for the list. I have been trying to learn some German since my in-laws are German and I want to be able to understand them (though they speak pretty fluent English). I ran across the old free FSI language courses and found them to be a great - if a bit outdated tool. They are located on a few places online but the version I used was at http://www.livelingua.com/fsi-.... What is your take on the course? Have you used it before?

There are tons of free resources for learning German, on top of it there are sites that allow you to watch free German Cable TV, just google away.
