Michelle Hurtado has worked with the United States Olympic Committee since 2006.  Having served in a variety of capacities, her most recent position as the Director of Performance Operations & Strategic Planning has responsibility for developing the annual and quadrennial plans for the Sport Performance Department.  Ms. Hurtado received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Co-operative Education from the University of Victoria in British Columbia and had a focus on biomechanics research.  She completed an Executive Masters in Organization Sport Management with High Distinction through the International Olympic Committee and Universite catholique de Louvain in Belgium.  Her thesis titled “Decoding the Black Box: Decision Strategies for Resource Allocation in Elite Sport” examined resource allocation practices across 32 Olympic organizations and won the prestigious Alberto Madella prize.  Ms. Hurtado resides in Colorado Springs, CO with her husband.
