Keywords

The following keywords are derived mainly from Japan at War, Embracing Defeat, and The American Occupation of Japan and Okinawa, but a few are from the lectures as well. For the Keyword Quiz you will be asked to respond to five from this list. A response should encompass an identification of the item and--more importantly--an indication of its historical context and significance. It should be around four to five sentences (note: that means COMPLETE SENTENCES, not cryptic, Attention Deficiency Syndrome-induced sentence fragments). It would be a good idea to have this list handy as you do your readings and listen to lectures.
