Guidelines For All

Use Dreamland Japan (esp. chapters 1-3 and pp. 120-131, 143-196, 203-121), the samples of manga in class, and this week's class sessions as a basic foundation and framework for this investigation into manga and anime. All of you should then visit the following links for further information and opinions about the expression of gendered differences and gender relations in manga and anime:

"A History of Manga" by nmp international
"What are Shôjo Manga" by Matt Thorn
"Gender and Gender Relations in Manga and Anime" by Eri Izawa

Then proceed to the directions below which correspond to your biological sex OR the gender with which you most strongly identify this week. Prepare a written report for me and an oral report to share in class. AnimeResearch, Anime Web Turnpike, Otaku World , and the Anime and Manga Resources List are great places to start searching. Use search engines like google too.
