LORI PEEK

Lori Peek, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Colorado State University. Her most recent research projects include an exploration of identity formation processes among second-generation Muslim Americans after the September 11 terrorist attacks, a longitudinal study of children's experiences in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina, and an examination of the relocation experiences of families who were displaced to the state of Colorado in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Lori is the Associate Chair for Research Projects for the Social Science Research Council Task Force on Hurricane Katrina and Rebuilding the Gulf Coast, and she is currently guest editing a special issue of the journal Children, Youth and Environments on the topic of Children and Disasters. Lori is also a certified child care volunteer through the Church of the Brethren Children's Disaster Services program.
