FRANK DISIMINO

Frank Disimino is presently working at the FEMA NIMS Integration Center (NIC) located at FEMA Headquarters as a Program Specialist in the Standards & Compliance Branch. He transferred in January 2003 into the Department of Justice's Office (DOJ) for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) located in Washington, DC where he served as a Preparedness Officer managing multiple homeland security grant award programs to states and large urban areas within FEMA Regions V and VII.

In 2005 he sent on an eight-month detail to the FEMA NIMS Integration Center. Following which he was deployed, through FEMA, to the U.S. Gulf Coast in the immediate aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. After returning to OGT, he accepted a full-time position with the NIC in July, 2006.

His previous position, beginning in 1998 was working as a political Asylum Officer with DOJ. Prior to 1998, he worked with a number of international relief organizations, as well as serving for five years at Peace Corps Headquarters as an International Health Coordinator in the Office of Medical Services.

Frank worked as an ambulance attendant EMT/Paramedic for a number of years in Boston, MA and graduated nursing school in 1977. He was on staff as an emergency room RN at Boston City Hospital, Charity Hospital in New Orleans, and DC General Hospital. Frank also served as a Health Project Officer at the National Institutes of Health. He has been certified as an EMT-Paramedic and hold a BS degree in Political Science and a MS in Health Care Administration.
