CHARLES J. VENABLE
Charlie Venable is an SAIC Senior Program Manager. Mr. Venable joined SAIC in January 2004 and, as an SAIC Vice President, was the Operations Manager for the Joint Experimentation, Transformation, Training and Assessments Operation until August 2005. In that role, Mr. Venable led the Operation in the areas of Joint and Multinational concept development and experimentation, technology definition, assessment and integration, and interoperability analysis.
He came to SAIC from General Dynamics, subsequent to GD's acquisition of Veridian. Mr. Venable joined Veridian in July 1994 and served as Vice President of Veridian's Simulation and Integrated Solutions Business Area headquartered in Hampton, Virginia. In this role, Mr. Venable led the Group in the areas of exercise services, modeling and simulation operations, experimentation, C4I assessment and transformation initiatives. Mr. Venable began his career with Veridian as a Senior Coordinator and Technical Director for the Joint Warfighting Center at Fort Monroe, Virginia and assumed the position of Program Manager in 1997.
Mr. Venable retired from the Army in June 1994 after 21 years of service. Mr. Venable graduated with a BS from the United States Military Academy in 1973. He received an MS in Operations Research from North Carolina State University in 1984 and a Certificate of Professional Studies in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in 1999. Mr. Venable received certification as a Modeling and Simulation Professional in 2002 and as a Project Management Professional in 2005.
Mr. Venable served a two year term as the Chairman of the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center's Advisory Board and is a member of the Modeling and Simulation Advisory Committee to Virginia's Joint Commission on Technology and Science.
