IAN WHYTE
Program Manager

Ian Whyte is a Program Manager with the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management and is responsible for developing the County’s annual emergency exercise. As the exercise design team leader, Mr. Whyte coordinates the participation of the many entities in the County’s annual exercise.

Mr. Whyte is a native southern Californian who has been involved in emergency management for almost ten years. He started his EM career as a Disaster Services volunteer with the American Red Cross, which eventually led to a paid position as a disaster planner. During his career Mr. Whyte has responded to numerous disasters, both local and national. He is a member of the American National Red Cross’s Aviation Incident Response (AIR) team, where he acts as a Government Liaison and Special Events Coordinator. He was part of the initial Red Cross response to numerous aviation incidents which have impacted the Los Angeles area.

Mr. Whyte holds a BA degree from UCLA and AA degree from Pasadena City College, both in psychology; he is currently working on an MS in Public Administration at Cal State Los Angeles.
