The Business Administration curriculum is designed to give students both a broad liberal arts background and a strong professional education. Within the Bachelor of Science (BS) program, students can major in international business studies, management, marketing, operations management or sport management. Students may also pursue a minor in international business with or without language, and/or apply to the minors in management information/decision support systems, economics or a variety of other fields. The business program is accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the sole agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting body of business schools.
The Management major focuses on learning principles, theories, and skills that affect the behavior and success of individuals, groups, and organizations. Course work in areas such as organizational behavior, negotiation and conflict resolution, leadership and teams, human resource management, labor relations, ethics, organizational design, entrepreneurship and small business management, IT applications in management, and international management represent the range of different skills necessary to accomplish organizational goals.
