BLUE HENS FOREVER

Welcome, UD Alumni! As a Blue Hen you can take advantage of the resources offered by the Career Center and partner with us on career preparation and engagement initiatives that benefit the career development of all UD students. We look forward to working with you.

Students and alumni are seeking opportunities to gain professional experience through internships, jobs and gigs. The UD Career Center, Lerner Career Services Center and Graduate Professional Development are ready to work with you to recruit and hire talented Blue Hens for a variety of roles.

Take a more active role by engaging in the formal recruiting process for your employer or by helping to create an internship or job opportunity for a UD student.

Our free online recruiting system, Handshake, allows external employers to share job and internship opportunities for UD students and alumni. Your HR department can establish an account at udel.joinhandshake.com/register.

On-campus positions can by posted by UD departments via TalentLink.

Offered over winter & summer term, our job shadow program allows students to learn more about various professions, receive career-related advice, and reflect on the ways in which their education can prepare them for life after college. Sign up to host a student virtually for a 1-hr informational interview or host a student in person for a full day, on-the-job shadowing experience, that is convenient for both you and the student.

Offer a three to five-week internship during UD’s winter term, when over 60% of UD students are available for full or part-time experiences throughout the country. The experience will help to expose a student to a career area of interest and will provide you with an eager intern to assist with projects for the month.

The Student Career Advancement Fund provides assistance to students pursuing critical, yet unpaid, internship and professional experiences. The fund offers opportunities for students to gain exposure to career paths, develop professional connections and secure employment through individual and department-led programs such as job shadowing opportunities, career treks and professional conference participation.

Under the direct supervision of the UD Career Center, the philanthropic support of the Student Career Advancement Fund will help expand programs and resources to prepare students with financial need for professional success.
