Final letter grade rule: Your final grade cannot be more than one letter grade higher than your exam average. This is to ensure mastery of fundamental skills.
If you have a disability that requires special accommodation, please contact me by email (pcline at udel.edu) during the first week of class.
Lab attendance is mandatory. Labs will be due the night before the following lab begins. For example, the lab assigned Monday, June 4 is due the evening of June 10 at 11:55pm and must be submitted online before that then to be "on time." You may hand your printed copy in to the TA during lab the following day (June 11 in this case). Late assignments are penalized 10% per day, with a maximum of seven days. After seven days, assignments will not be accepted.
The course will make use of the MyCourses system. The system is found at www.udel.edu/mycourses/. From this system, you will be able to submit your assignments, as well as access your grades. The course has been requested but not yet set up, so it should be ready by Wedensday's lecture.
Participation is 5% of your grade. If you come to lecture and sit quietly, you can expect 1/5 points. To receive full credit, you need only ask or answer one question in every class. A steady dialogue of questions and answers is very important to the learning process in this class. If you have a question that is pertinent to the material at hand, please ask. Your asking benefits everyone, and it shows me that you are paying attention. These are both very good!
The clicker will be used, on most occasions, twice per class. Since the lecture time is quite long, we will break the class up into two smaller lectures, with clicker quizzes at the end of each and a break in between.
This page will be updated continuously with new material, so please check back often.
