A: If the section is full, then the
section is full. I not permitted my by department to sign pink slips for full sections.
If a space opens up, you can use the drop/add form on the web
(www.udel.edu, then link for SIS+) and keep trying in the hopes that
a space will open up. There is no waiting list; it is first come
first served. ("No,
really, please, please, please won't you sign my pink slip?")
A: I appreciate the difficulty of (insert personal circumstance here). Nevertheless, I regret that I must insist that you attend the lab and lecture for which you are registered.
I cannot make any "ongoing" exceptions to this rule. (Why such a strict policy? See the answer here.)
Rare exceptions might be announced for labs/lectures that occur immediately before a break or three-day weekend, on a space-available basis. Don't just assume; check the course announcements or ask if you are not sure.
Rare exceptions might be made for "one-time" events (out-of-town weddings, court appearances, etc.). These must be approved by the instructor AND your TA at least one week in advance and confirmed by email, and are solely at the discretion of the course staff.
Again, there will be absolutely NO "ongoing" exceptions for anyone (again, here's why.)
