Title: Practical Preparation of Large Data Sets for Statistical Analysis and Reporting
Today's world of making tough business decisions in a fast paced crop protection business depends on statistical analysis for clear presentation of large volumes of factual information to decision makers in a variety of roles. Managers need concise summaries of complex information, biologists and planners need detailed information to understand complex chemical and biological interactions, regulators need very detailed data in easy to understand formats that proves efficacy, safety, and other factors related to crop protection chemicals in the environment. Accurate analysis depends on data sets that contain concise and relevant data that is often generated by a wide range of people working around the world in diverse environments with differing agronomic and measurement practices. This presentation will look at some of the methods used to prepare data for statistical analysis in today's crop protection business.
Pete Kouba has worked for the Crop Protection Chemical business within Dupont for more than 27 years. He has held several technical support positions in field and greenhouse product discovery and product support research, with expertise in sprayer technology and data handling systems. For the past 7 years Pete has worked with product development, preparing data sets from global Insecticide, Herbicide, and Fungicide field trials for statistical analysis, protocol planning, and product registrations. When not processing data, Pete serves the community as a scoutmaster and a deacon with his church and occasionally finds time to play guitar or read a good book.
