Greetings and welcome to another season of ACHA Hockey! Enclosed
are a number of very important items for the start of the 1999-2000 season:
1. Enclosed is the 1999-00 ACHA Season application. Please
send both the check and completed application to the ACHA office.
Application and payment are due by October 5, 1999. If you
are a team that is brand new to the ACHA, please indicate this on the application.
All teams will be receiving ACHA helmet stickers this year with their membership.
The MANDATORY helmet stickers will replace the previous patch.
2. Enclosed is also the "Annual Player Agreement to Participate".
This form MUST be filled out and signed by all players. Please return
completed forms to Dan Blevins by October 31, 1999. For players added
to the roster mid-season, a form must be sent in when they join the roster.
3. Eligibility form to verify team roster with school registrar.
Please remember we are no longer using "semesters played", but "years played".
This form is due to Dan Blevins no later than October 31, 1999.
4. Minutes from the 1999 meeting are enclosed, as well as the
1999 Policy Manual.
5. The ACHA will be keeping individual player statistics this
season. Specific information is included on your checklist.
6. Please note the $50 increase in annual dues. This fee
increase was voted unanimously at the 1999 annual meeting. The sole
purpose of this increase is to allow all ACHA members to become members
of the American Hockey Coaches Association. The ACHA office will
be paying the Coaches Association directly so your membership in the Coaches
Association is automatic when you pay your ACHA dues. This new relationship
will bring the following benefits to our organization:
a. Each member will receive a subscription to the Stops and Starts
Newsletter which will now contain monthly information on the ACHA.
b. Our annual meeting will now be located on site at the Coaches
Association Convention giving all our coaches access to their Coaching
Education Sessions and the Exhibitor’s Trade Shows.
c. The ACHA’s new relationship with the Coaches Association will
lend much needed credibility to our organization in the college hockey
community.
d. Dates for next year’s ACHA Annual Meetings are April 29 and
30, 2000 in Naples, FL, so begin making plans to attend now!
Please read the Division III checklist carefully. Be sure to send all requested information to Dan Blevins on time. Dan’s address is listed at the end of the checklist. If you have any questions, I can be reached at (302) 831-2718, or via email at JBrandwene@aol.com. Best of luck this season!
Sincerely,
Josh Brandwene
ACHA President
